With increased spatial demands in dense urban centers alleyways offer the option to think opportunistically about alternate uses of underutilized space at the pedestrian scale. The existing spatial frame of the alleyway, defined by tall walls and narrow pathways, should be read as a seam split open revealing an unexpected inner beauty, drawing the passers-by to the other side while temporarily transforming through altered contextual conditions. The proposal aims to manifest this transformation through the installation of a connective tissue made of multi-colored strings that form a tunnel-like interactive passage. The strings take unexpected turns and establish connections, distracting from existing conditions while celebrating the intensity of the spatial experience.
