Outside In aims to reconnect the alley with its context to create a unique experience based upon movement. Because alleys are often detached from the urban context, a series of reflective pylons serves two purposes: Bring the outside into the alley and construct a sequence of spaces that changes as you move. The pylons, a set of bent planes, reflect both ground and sky making a series of successive reflections reaching back and forth to the alley edges, connecting within the passage to both ends. This strategy connects the alley to its context, bringing the alley’s visual context into its center.
