Our proposal aims to establish an organizational framework for what we imagine to be an evoking network of alleys, art, and community. This permanent installation supports the transient qualities of art in all of its manifestations. The core intervention is a line, that unifies the desperate architectures of the alley and outlines possible scenarios of use. The intervention is a heart, a performative architecture that shields, contains, calls attention to or relegates to haze the various conditions of the alley. The installation is the backdrop to a variety of immobile and mobile performances or events that begin to contain space. This variety allows the alley to evolve and activate in ways a single piece of art cannot. As an organizational strategy, the interventions lay the necessary groundwork for air, performance, lectures, midnight movies, lunches in the park all in pursuit of the minimal physical intervention required to suggest and facilitate such uses.
