Alley Grass - Boston, MA
Dai Ren & Steven Karvelius
Alley Grass transforms this once leftover space into a dynamic place for people to come together and engage not only with art, but also with one another. Alley Grass completely changes the scale of the site by filling it with yellow interactive sculptures that feel like enormous blades of grass. Users are encourages to meander through the patch, pushing, pulling and leaning on the soft rubber object. Passersby are drawn down the alley to satisfy their curiosity and engage in the fun. One can’t help but smile.
At night, the blades glow as they light the entire site, creating a place to gather well after the sun as gone down. Alley Grass is a public amenity for truly everyone in Chattanooga.
